The importance of memory verses.

Now that you've sat through a few practice rounds, you might start to notice that there are 2 or 3 questions that people don't jump as much on--MEMORY VERSES.  If you have learned the verses, then you notice something even stranger--several other questions come from those verses!  A sure way to be successful in Bible quizzing (if your goal is to get the jumps!) is to spend time working on memory verses.  These verses are preselected as some of the most key verses in the book of Hebrews.  I remember as a quizzer over this material being shocked that a verse from 1 Peter wasn't a verse because it spoke very loudly to me.   As you read and study Hebrews, what verses are sticking out to you as the most important? These verses may be different to each individual because after all, the word of God is living and active--so it speaks to all of us differently.

We realize that everyone wants to do well, and that Hebrews can be confusing.  It can also be hard to want to sit down and study and focus.  Scott, Ryan, Lori and i are always just a text away to help answer your questions.  If you study hard, and want to work on skills, we can help you with that too, feel free to ask us any time.  Daley and Emma are a little more limited because of their college lives, but they've taken time to commit to you as well, and are able to help give you tips and tricks on studying if you'd like.  They were both quizzers recently, so they probably have some good tips.

Here's the memory verse list again, just in case someone doesn't have it.  I would encourage everyone to try and learn at least a verse a day--it doesnt take that long, and you'll be glad you did!

Hebrews 1:1-2, 1:3, 1:10-12, 2:1, 2:9, 2:10, 2:14-15, 2:17, 2:18, 3:1, 3:5-6, 3:12-13, 4:9-10, 4:12, 4:13, 4:14-15, 4:16.
